Representatives from top agencies across Australia and New Zealand – Frontier Travel, 1000 Mile, Aora Escapes, Orbit World Travel and ATPI NZ recently joined a 10-day fam to discover India.

The curated itinerary travelled through New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur, delivering a deep-dive into India’s cultural and architectural treasures through a premium lens.

Throughout the trip, participants experienced stays at some of India’s most prestigious luxury and heritage properties including The Imperial in New Delhi, the noble House of Rohet’s Mihir Garh in Jodhpur, and Oberoi hotels such as Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra and The Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur.

The group also checked in at Raffles Udaipur, the Singapore-born brand’s debut property in India.

Itinerary highlights included visits to UNESCO World Heritage landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb; a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi’s bustling Chandni Chowk and a private boat journey across Lake Pichola to view Udaipur’s lakeside City Palace from the water.

In Rajasthan, guests visited royal residences including Umaid Palace and Jaipur’s City Palace, as well as the famed Hawa Mahal – known as the ‘Palace of the Winds’. An immersive culinary experience saw the group welcomed into a local Indian home for a hands-on cooking demonstration and traditional Rajasthani dinner.

The programme also extended beyond luxury to cultural connection. In rural Rajasthan, the group embarked on a village safari by jeep in Mihir Garh, learning about local communities including the wildlife-protecting Bishnoi people and meeting members of the Raika, Paliwal and Meghwal communities.

The fam wrapped up back in Delhi, where delegates celebrated the end of the journey with an evening of local nightlife and cricket before retiring to the Imperial hotel.

On of the attendees, Simon Andrews from Orbit Travel, said: “Our hosts from Far and Beyond were exceptional in bringing our India itinerary all together, leaning into the art of Indian hospitality which is truly world class. Chrissie from Heaven’s Portfolio, ensured nothing was ever too much trouble; there was always time for laughter and shared joy along the way.

“As for India as a destination, it is the kind of place that rearranges your idea of what travel is supposed to be. You don’t just see it, you feel it, and somehow it changes how you see everything else. India is still with me weeks later and I can’t wait to go back.”
