Agents can learn about Ras Al Khaimah online
by Laura Gelder
The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority launched its new e-learning platform for agents this week at World Travel Market, with the goal of reaching one million visitors in 2018.
raktravelmaster.com is an interactive site with three themed modules covering the destination, its adventure tourism product and its culture. There are plans to add further modules in the future.
Completing all three modules will see agents certified as a RAK Travel Master and gain access to unique benefits such as discounts on destination activities and attractions, invitations to participate in workshops and events and the chance to join a fam trip to Ras Al Khaimah.
The UAE emirate continues to position itself as an adventure tourism destination and will be opening the world’s longest zip line on December 4.
At the end of this month (November) it will open the Jebel Jais viewing deck on the UAE’s tallest mountain. The 1,300 metre-high deck will offer views, food trucks and picnic areas.
This month, the destination also welcomed the opening of Thomas Cook’s own brand hotel, the Smartline Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort, which will be the first of 13 new hotel properties opening between now and 2020.
